we the soil is a project dedicated to celebrating creative community.

It has two components: a free monthly newsletter that shares workshops and other creative opportunities and a literary magazine that only publishes work nurtured by community.

The intention: to highlight the importance of community for creative inspiration and well-being. Together, we are the fertile soil from which our art germinates.

Many of us, especially those who do not have the luxury of a full-time writer’s life, turn to teachers and workshops to challenge and renew our approaches to our craft. Often, workshops serve as points of origin for creative concepts and offer the structure needed to develop them.

The newsletter was created to help spread the word for upcoming workshops and the teachers that help nurture our creative roots. Similarly, we hope that the connections and stories shared in the literary magazine will turn our readers toward mentors, teachers, organizations, etc. that are truly making an impact.

This newsletter is run by Yomalis Rosario, a poet and teacher.

To submit your workshop for the newsletter by the 25th of every month using this form.
